Three towns, one name

Benalmádena is easy to misread. The name covers a whitewashed village up on the hillside, a busy coastal strip, and Arroyo de la Miel in between, which is where most of the shops and the train station sit. Each one is a different kind of cleaning job.

The coast is the tourist half, built around the marina and the beaches. The village is quieter, with narrow streets and older houses. Arroyo de la Miel is the working centre, full of apartments and a large year-round population. The town hall keeps the whole municipality running, and the place stays busy through the winter in a way the pure resorts do not.
