Elviria is a large residential suburb on the coastal side of the motorway, developed mainly in the 1980s. It calls itself Marbella's green lung, and it earns the name: protected pine woodland above, beach below. The mix is northern European families, year-round residents, and a heavy share of second homes and holiday lets.
The area has several distinct parts. Elviria Hills climbs the hillside with bigger villas and sea views. Elviria Playa is the beachside strip, where most of the short-let apartments are. In between sit Los Lagos, Las Cumbres and the Santa María Golf developments.
That mix means two kinds of work here: regular cleaning for residents, and fast changeovers for rental owners, often on the same day as a checkout.
