El Rosario
A settled residential area, not a resort
El Rosario was developed through the 1980s and 1990s as an ordinary residential urbanisation rather than a resort. It has its own small commercial centre with a pharmacy, and the streets are lined with villas on mature plots. People live here: British and Scandinavian families, retirees, and more young families lately, partly because the English International College is close.
The area splits into El Rosario Alto and El Rosario Bajo, the upper streets climbing inland and the lower ones running down towards the beach at Las Chapas. Larger plots mean more outside space, so terraces, gardens and glazing take a share of the work.
Because so many households are here year round, this is a regular-clean area rather than a changeover one. We also look after second homes for owners who are only here part of the year.
